YOUTUBE FUCKING SUCKS?!?! (An Idea I Had...)
This is not a "YouTube is bad" video, because that has been drained to the balls already (it's a widely agreed upon stance). This is a video mainly ranting and sharing an idea I had for what a better video hosting platform could be (this is just a video I made on the spot, so it may be shit). If anyone is curious, I can make a doc explaining what I am thinking but in a comprehensible way.

11:01 its called getting sponsorship deals. the idea of a company directly working with a creator to advertize their stuff without the video platform being involved at all

@SkibidiCoffee Seems logical to me. I think, though, that the video hosting platform should make these contracts themselves rather than letting the Leagues. Sure, the Leagues get some input, but they physically can't do something like locking a creator in. The platform thrives on their being multiple leagues, that is the incentive. So to have something like that be possible seems retarded.

@YeOldeFellerNoob interesting. I do think the idea of a decentralized video sharing platform where you can choose your own host for your comments and videos and follow the rules you wanna follow but still be able to see comments and videos from people on other hosts like just matrix or email but for videos instead of messaging. Is also a pretty good idea as well. Idk it probably already exists but noone uses it.

i think the best idea for content creators isnt to use youtube or vidlii or rumble or odysee or whatever i think the best idea is to use abunch of video sharing platforms for uploading content so if one gets banned or if a site becomes super bad or shuts down theres still other platforms for your content to be viewed on. like the most basic investing advice is to invest in multiple stuff instead of one with your money so that if something goes wrong only a small part of your wealth will go away not 100% of it. so people who make videos online should do the same i feel. upload to multiple platforms and your website if you have one so that its almost impossible to lose your career or for your videos to become lost media unless the internet shuts down as a whole or theres a global wide power outage. i upload my videos on youtube and vidlii and odysee and bitchute and archive.org and my website to prevent losing everything if a site shuts down or if i get hacked or banned on one site

I'll comment more as I watch ahead, but I'll say what I always say about this: YouTube has no competitors because it doesn't make money. The business model is broken, so only companies who can subsidize it can survive. It's funny you bring up Kick, because Kick is also subsidized, but instead of by Amazon, it's a large gambling company. This state of affairs will not change until YouTube stops being subsidized, or another company is willing to subsidize their own platform even more than Google does for YouTube does.

If using MCNs more like a union was popular, where an MCN can decide to withdraw from a video site, that would be more useful. Things like ThatGuyWithTheGlasses were like this and had their own website. This isn't as viable anymore though, since YouTube itself is the distribution and PROMOTION engine behind so much. Again, it's free and too good for anything to compete with.
Overall, it seems like you want more decentralization, which is good, but these problems will remain due to money reasons.
