@TheSpoilsofWrath It misses the point on purpose. Gwen Stefani appeals more to younger generations anyways. And covers don't have to be one on one duplicates from OG songs.

@musicvidz i'm conflicted. On the one hand, it's definitely got a lot more going for it than the original music video. But then again, just because you can choose to miss the point deliberately, doesn't mean you should.
Really makes me curious about the director's background or if Gwen had any influence over the video because around this time, Gwen was going into her feminist arc with songs like "Just a Girl" and a few years later, left No Doubt to pursue her God awful pop arc.
It's a shame cuz Just a Girl musically kicks a lot of ass. But the lyrics make me wince. Gwen is gonna pretend like we had sharia law in 90's America just because her father was worried and concerned her safety, when just a few years prior, serial killers were at their most prominent.
