Iron Horse - BGM 2 (MSX AY-3-8910+Konami SCC Cover)
Released in arcades in 1986, Iron Horse was one of Konami's first games to use FM music. It's also considered the predecessor to Sunset Riders, sharing its wild west theme, and I somehow never knew about it until less than a year ago. I recently found out that its music actually inspired Yuzo Koshiro's work at Falcom, primarily First Step Towards Wars from Ys. Hearing Iron Horse's soundtrack for myself, I could tell that this was very much true, and it made perfect sense that such a classic RPG track would be inspired by music you'd hear in a spaghetti-western movie. The song that seemed to be the closest to First Step Towards Wars was the game's second BGM track, which I think is also its best song.
