i think reuploading content only becomes an issue if you don't credit the original creator/claim it as yours, or if you upload it on a monetized site like youtube where you potentially make money off of someone else's work

random thought i wanna share, i'm most likely never reuploading stuff on this site because i don't wanna be responsible for taking up space on vidlii's servers for stuff that's not even mine

I agree, at the end of the day people have the right to reupload and are gonna do it anyways. Also because half of my content is reuploads but we don't talk about that ;)

It's also important to note, it's always best to have the stuff on your system archive offline on hard drives. You can't fully rely and trust online services to have your stuff online. Good example is archive.org, yes it is the #1 most reliable website to archive stuff but it also is struggling keeping up their servers and their facing multiple trouble with the law and possible shut down. To many people storing things on one single service everyday is a bad sign for what's to come.

It's also a bit more harder if your media is considered private and personal such as family videos or photos. So you would have to rely on services that host your media privately like Google Drive.

Yes, but you can't trust the hard drive you have stored on your PC too much, because if you have lost material, you should at least have a pendrive and there you can make at least a backup copy, because the PC could also suffer any damage or even the hard drives also stop working after reaching 10 years of their life cycle, so you can't trust that either, so the most advisable thing is to use a pendrive, or upload it to any cloud service, if you want to keep some lost material!!!

Its only an issue if you don't want it reuploaded to y####be. Or if you can't make money off it. Or if the site relies on reuploads (cough cough odysee cough cough)
