Sonic Forces X
Seems like someone did this with the 4kids opening.
To quote Uther Lightbringer: That was a mistake.
Also I went out of my way to get 1444p quality for the video source but that's going to get squandered by the low resolution Vidlii has to offer right now. Oh well.

@mattwo Anyways after a while I found the Anime Network channel which had both Japanese subtitled and English dubbed and oddly enough in Azumanga Daioh they did a joke in the sub where the "perverted" teacher says "I love you." in English but in the English dub they do the same joke with him saying it in Japanese instead.

@Aaronshy Unlike the Toei Anime, Duel Monsters is more of a loose adaptation. Duel Monsters onwards are the only part of the anime relevant to this discussion.

@mattwo Ok. Point taken. But than why was it in the manga Bandit Keith was considered the only American out of all the characters. They clearly showed him as an outsider in the manga yet in the TV show they all act like their in America and Bandit Keith isn't some foreigner.

@Aaronshy Just because the regions share names and pokemon locations are inspired by real world lcations does not make them the same. Or is there a Pallet Town in Japan's Kanto Region? Saffron City? Celadon City?
Also Yugioh wasn't even set in Egypt outside of the memory arc... Nor was it set in Japan. It was NEVER explicitly stated. I'd also like to point out that East Academy proved that the central Duel Academy wasn't in the far east. If it was, then where the fuck is East Academy then?
Course, it'd be far harder to say the Toei Anime wasn't in Japan considering the High School was distinctly Japanese.

@mattwo They oddly enough are. PokΓ©mon especially in the case of the games. Yugioh actually they should be eating Egyptian food with how often Egypt is literally mentioned.

@Aaronshy It's far more bullshit to say the Ace Attorney series is set in californa.
Least they didn't Americanize the ramen cart too much (probably just changed Udon to Noodle and removed all references to ramen, just like they changed Maya's ramen obsession to cheeseburger obsession even though American bachelors and generally unwealthy collage age plus adults are known to eat ramen all the freaking time...), that would have just been awkward.

@Aaronshy I was not aware Yugioh and Pokemon were set in locations remotely resembling the real world.

@mattwo True but it makes no sense to do. They just assumed we'd think it was weird if characters in an anime ate food from the country they supposibly lived in.

@Aaronshy It's called "Americanization"
Yugioh Abridged's take on Lecter explains it perfectly: https://youtu.be/mPJgqd1B_ns?t=221

@mattwo Good point but geez 4Kids censored Japanese food to American food and I still have no clue why.

@Aaronshy Except when it's so bad it's funny or Funimation is involved and sometimes the voice acting in the dub is better.

@Mattwo Won't deny that but also Japanese anime just has better moments than English dubs anyways.
