VidMe is bad. I do NOT like VidMe, but VidMe doesn't represent all alternatives. VidLii is much better than VidMe. You claim YouTube is the best at what it does just because the problems on the site haven't hit you the hardest that's pretty self centered to acknowledge all of the issues but claim it's better than anything else just because you're experience wasn't as bad as others. You barely covered any other alternatives except VidMe and judged VidLii without any points and based on YouTube. YouTube is a bad site. If VidLii is brand new and already better, if not almost as good as, youtube, then in the future it will be much better than YouTube. Don't judge all sites because the category is the same as a site you don't like.

I stopped up-loading to Y.T. and closed my AIS channel summer 2015 after numerous troll false claims on my original music and Y.T. did nothing about it, just let them claim it. The Y.T. mentality of guilty until proven innocent ticked me off. I disputed and then waited for the claim to fall off but it got tiring, so I left. Vid.meh, well you know the story about that and my leaving in February after they lied. I am at Wenoo (I asked Vistafan12 about removing the water mark and it is now gone) and VidLii. I feel one can be as successful as they can be by creating good content and letting their fans know about it through blog posts and social media. Anyway, that is my two cents.

These Vidlii users are getting pretty damn defensive of their ToS violations. From posting memes and slanderous bullshit in the Education Category to the site being available worldwide other than being restricted to only the US...

@KnotSnappy Not sure why you don't like it, if you ask me the only real thing holding it back is the lack of social media aspect to it.

@mattwo well like I said you can never know for sure. I'm willing to take that risk for a good experience while it lasts and hopefully but probably not live for a very, very long time. Also, I personally don't like uploading videos to archive.org just because of the feel of the site I guess, but it isn't a bad site and is definitely more reliable. I'd go as far as to say archive.org is more reliable than YouTube, I just don't like the video aspect. Guess this has come down to opinion and perspective now.

@KnotSnappy Give me one good reason I should bother letting this site die, wasting tons of hours of my time?

Internet Archive has thus far proven to be the only truly reliable alternative.

@mattwo are you aware you have bias of your own? Also, how is thinking you said something you didn't because I wasn't able to rewatch the video at the time "usual YouTube alternative bias"?

I said almost. Also, this site isn't just 2009. There's also 2008 for a lot of it, and at that time there wasn't 720p. There are already 2 videos that I know of with 480p which will be fully released very soon.

This is where your bias comes in. You've had bad experiences with other sites made by other people so you have lost faith in alternative sites, huh? Well, that really doesn't affect VidLii itself, it just affects your view of it. You're right, there is a good chance it might fail, but you can't be sure. No one can. You can't see in the future. There's a chance YouTube might fail because it's been doing so many terrible things for a long time, but people that that it would end a while ago because of these things and it didn't. VidLii may do this too with being small.

@KnotSnappy "yeah, pretty sure u did at the beginning lol"

Nope, that's the usual YouTube alternative bais trying desperately to think that I shat on Vidlii without thinking things through properly. I didn't even bring up the fact that I can't relate to people having those issues until later in the video.

"With a brand new site such as VidLii already nearly meeting up to 2009 standards"

Didn't 720p exist in 2009?

Even if Vidlii does manage to eventually make itself better than YouTube, there's always a good chance it might fail, it doesn't have the strong following Vidme has and I'm concerned for the owner's mental stability after he quit the discord, he might be straining himself too much.

Even if it does get better, I'll probably continue to upload to YouTube and Internet Archive for backups, I already lost a good chunk of time on Zippcast due to all the videos I lost.

@mattwo yeah, pretty sure u did at the beginning lol

Well, yeah it is. you say technically but your definition can differ from mine. The site only came back up in June (with 100% original/new source code, not from vidbit, and eventually a rename, and many new features like channel 2.0) so I consider that brand new. Especially since the redesign changed the site completely again.

No, you didn't really explain. Just because YouTube has an 11 minute limit and HD doesn't mean it's much better. The site has been developed since 2005 with many different people working on it. With a brand new site such as VidLii already nearly meeting up to 2009 standards with 1 person developing it, it's proportionally better. while it probably won't, if it did exist in 11 years it would be better than any other site. YouTube is bad, accept it.

@KnotSnappy "You claim YouTube is the best at what it does just because the problems on the site haven't hit you the hardest"

No, no I didn't.

"If VidLii is brand new"

Technically speaking, no it's not.

"already better, if not almost as good as, youtube"

Why do I even have to explain how technologically inferior it is? Either way, already explained how you're wrong on my other video.
