Screw that other guy for being rude. And good job for being willing to let go of things you don't think you need and good job for trying Linux! Sadly the version of Mint you're using is based on Ubuntu and in case you haven't heard, Ubuntu is getting AI forced on it. If you don't want the ai features I would suggest switching to Linux Mint LMDE. It's based on Debian instead which doesn't have ai at the moment. Hopefully though Mint adds a way to choose whether or not users want AI installed. Would be nice to not have to switch Linux versions.
