YouTube has no competitor. It can do whatever the heck it wants, because, who's going to stop it? The content is what matters, and YouTube is the site that has it. That's why I don't see the "fall of YouTube" happening anytime soon.

The problem isn't that YouTube has all the content, but rather, it's about how idiots don't know of any alternatives. Even DAILYMOTION is forgotten. DAILYMOTION! In case you're wondering, DailyMotion is the long-time main competitor to YouTube.

If we want to stop YouTube's dominance, we need to ally with the other alternate video sites in a survival pact.

To be fair, dailymotion is pretty bad.

The whole shitstorm going on over at YouTube is the reason why I'm considering VidLii as a new home for my gaming videos and silly MS Paint animations made out of boredom.

... being the largest thing that YT just did to screw people over is to make small channels become impossible to be able to rack up an audience.

You know what my theory is regarding the Logan Paul situation? YouTube is trying to make the Paul brothers the face of their website, so they won't even punish them for anything. Even if it was Jake and Logan Paul gang raping a little girl and finally killing her, YouTube would still do nothing about it, that's how bad it's become at this point. However, YouTube will demonetize or age restrict your video for the most minuscule things, like having swear words on your video, or talking about a controversial subject. Logan Paul did something far worse than anything these people could possibly do, but YouTube would still put that shit on their "trending" section, no matter what. This proves my point that YouTube likes to stroke the shit out of the Paul brothers, while we peasants are the ones that get punished.

It needs to stop.

While I do think something incredibly bad is going to happen to YouTube, I don't think it'll become "pay-to-view". Even the morons in charge of YouTube know that the main draw of the site is being able to view content for free, and having users pay to view it would be akin to shooting themselves in the foot. That being said, I do not see YouTube (or Google for that matter) lasting much longer going into the 2020's. It'll die off like MySpace, yeah, but that death will be slow and painful compared to MySpace, which just kind of fell off the face of the earth within a few weeks.

@catface it'll be sad seeing all those popular youtubers soon be forgotten and only exist in our memories, but i do agree with you. youtube will eventually die out.

You know, I actually had this dream where YouTube implemented that one channel design where it looked worse than the one channel and every avatar was a circle and there was no way to convert back to the regular design. But that dream will must likely come true. YouTube will kill itself in the near future.

2017 was a good year. Just not for YouTube. And getting users to pay for subscriptions is going to kill the site. I don't use YouTube that much anymore. I just use it to talk to friends. And I do not like that new design where the avatars are a circle. It's horrible. Well I hope this site becomes the best site that has ever existed.

James Rolfe is the number one man that would be in YouTube Rewind if YouTube actually put time into overseeing the content creators of its own site.

YouTube will never get better. I think the site will be the next MySpace. I'm going to get more people to sign up for Vidlii. They'll like it better here.

I can help you with that, Rin. I'll talk to some of my friends and family to get off YouTube and come to Vidlii.

I fully agree with you YouTube getting Worst, Worst by sec. Because of Big YouTubers doing Stupid, outrage things. Advertisers are ruining the website. Because YouTube needs everyone to have kid friend content or You Get Nothing,

What we need is for VidLii to become what YouTube should've been, even possibly including a way to connect pages of a specific Social Media Sites to your VidLii Account [preferably, page-by-page.] if we must.

But most importantly, we need allies.

I stated in my previous videos that YouTube has no chance of improving. And I definitely stick by that claim. The whole Logan Paul controversy just gives many reasons how idiotic Google is.

Obviously, considering alternatives is a better choice, but none of them ever last, so there's really no point.

i'll throw my two cents into this thread.
Alternatives don't last not because of poor advertising, but rather the connection between administration and the community. The largest reason VidBit shutdown in 2016, was because the lack of communication between the users and the owner (jan). Another reason sites shut down are server issues (vStreamers for example). And VidLii staying up long is likely false, as it will probably shut down before 2025. Look at the statistics, ZippCast shut down all the time, VidBit shut down, vStreamers shut down, VBF shut down, etc. And i know i may sound like i'm contradicting myself as VidLii has a discord chat as opposed to VidBit not having one, but looking at this community's history it will likely happen.

i'm not trying hate on you or anything, just voicing my opinion. If you disagree with it then i would love to hear what you have to say.

I'll also throw mine in: The reason they don't last long is because they are literally doing stupid shite, which was VidMe's biggest flaw. Here's how I'd do it

BitChute for Politics
VidLii for Normal Videos
Internet Archive for historical reasons (send all YouTube videos that YouTube still has on their servers [including videos deleted by the mods but not removed from their servers] to the Internet Archive)
RedTube for you-know-what

However, this might end up screwing up. Also, VBF returned TWICE. The first was short, but apparently the second is for a transion to Vanillo.

What we need for VidLii to last for a long time is for Jan to actually know what he's doing, and not screw up things for everyone. There's proof that it can be done with Replays of Games (TUS anyone?), so it shouldn't be any different for videos if Jan plays his cards right.

I have a feeling YouTube really will just get worst. Soon it might even be a pay only site than no one will want to be on it and than it will actually get shut down.
