Obsidian STILL Can't Use Self-Signed Certs!
https://youtu.be/0haCQuBWXTY
RANT VIDEO! I was gonna use obsidian livesync to have my notes backed up and synchronized, but YOU CANT unless you decide to compromise your traffic by letting another guy sign your certs (yucky stinky)
I decided, I don't need to sync my notes! Why would I? I'll just use rsync to back them up and that's good enough, I don't need my project notes on my CELL PHONE WHICH I USE TO MAKE CALLS FROM.

it would be nice if you could provide your own root CA to more applications. for things that can't, trust on first use is the way.
ALSO, you can't get LetsEncrypt certs for a bare IP, and for domains you need to prop up a tiny webserver to do the verification or have a custom integration for DNS, which varies by DNS provider. this isn't even counting if you want to secure private domains over LAN or something. super aids. this is all assuming the LetsEncrypt or ZeroSSL doesn't have an outage and can always do the verification for you
this is why my p2p software FriendNet uses trust on first use for server cert verification, and peer connections are self-signed as well

@YeOldeFellerNoob it's notepad but i can put links to other notes inside of notes, and insert pics (but in a shitty way) also i have a pdf plugin that lets me like link to a line of text in a pdf
it is good for research shit or organizing info about stuff but its still kinda super messy. better than folder of text files named "asdf.txt" Although for video projects i do just put text files inside of a project folder.
My friend uses obsidian to make his website, he just writes the pages in an obsidian folder and there is some script that converts them to a nicely formatted web page automatically.
Def don't need this shit on my phone or synced with all my devices.
