If you can't find such a person, see if someone in your household or neighborhood will listen. If they won't listen, avoid them as much as possible until the collapse fully occurs. Yes, they'll "wake up then" but at that point, it'll be "too little and too late" and you won't have to deal with them, no joke. The coming invaders may shoot them to death. Speaking of invaders, join them once they arrive. See if they have equipment and training for you. This'll help you to deal with resisting government agents who won't hesitate to pull the trigger. If anyone else chooses the path of violence against your cause, shoot and kill them on sight. Most of all, do not underestimate yourself. Do not wait! Take action NOW!

If you don't have a choice, Windows 8.1 or higher is certainly okay, but you must get the updates installed as soon as you can. If you can upgrade the entire OS, do it. If not, replace your whole device. Any Windows-enabled device that's four years of age or less will likely support Windows 11 itself, as soon as it rolls out. Get it then, not after, if you can. Windows 10 will last last until about 2025-26, so get a Windows 11 installed device or at least a compatible one by then. This is especially importance since Microsoft will retire Windows 8.1 as early as 2023. (Internet Explorer 11 will be deprecated in mid-2022. The Edge browser's IE Mode will be supported until at least 2029 and possibly later.)

Save your laptop's battery so you won't have to charge it so much because that'll use more energy, making the financial and ecological footprint even worse. Live alone if you can. If you can't, find someone who can and will get you out of your current situation.
