One time, I tried to install a Windows XP theme on Windows 7. However, it was unable to copy explorer.exe and the taskbar disappeared. I managed to find and run a working Windows 7 explorer.exe from the internet, and then I used Command Prompt to move it to C:\Windows. Needless to say, this is pretty risky.
