Scanimate-like Face

This face was created by using an Arturia Microbrute analog synthesizer sending audio to a speaker, where a balloon with a piece of glass taped to it covered the speaker. A laser was pointed at the glass and reflected onto a piece of paper, from which it was recorded by a camera. What you see are three videos playing simultaneously. I first recorded the mouth, then used a sequencer to play the eyes. This was inspired by a video I saw (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-V1uXeyGmg). I thought the results and process were similar to that of the Scanimate machines of the 70s, which used analog video and synthesis to create cool looking images that were used widely in television.

@AM Yeah, I've seen that and it was kind of what made me want to create a face in the first place.
