i agree with most of your points but i disagree with the fact you praise 2020 and before memes. like memes right now are bad but 2020 memes and before were just straight up unfunny like some caption with a movie or cartoon screenshot with subtitles from reddit being posted in slop compilations to youtube during quarantine wasnt good at all. like this one meme i remember for example where in 2020 it was a caption where a dudes mom was talking about how why is the vpn set to italy and the joke is just that pornhub allowed users in italy to get free premium during covid because of how italy was being fucked over by covid more then most countries. comparing a 2020 meme about someguy setting his vpn to italy to get pornhub premium for free to ronnie mcnutt or dreamybull or even the blue catsmerf meme is crazy. like memes peaked between 2022 to 2023

i feel like too societys slang is also going way too fast now like even as a 16yearold i find it hard to keep up with modern slang now like people just posting random letters to mean different words as a shortening like dih meaning dick. like in 2022 to 2024 there was modern slang and brainrot words but for me atleast they were pretty easy to keep up with and the words would last years in use but nowdays sometimes i feel like an old man reading yt shorts comments with all the new slang appearing that even if i learn there will be new slang soon after learning and i have to restart

03:55 hood irony/thug memes have lasted for years now since 2022 but its mostly a discord thing not mainstream. dreamybull and ronnie mcnutt lasted a very long time too and even today i still make memes with it because it will continue to be funny to me

i feel like 2025 is the great meme depression where little memes exist and are way less funny then previous years. the only actually funny meme that started in 2025 is goonicide. even 2024 their memes were more funny like hawktuah is way more funny then 67 or cavedivers. ive been starting to resort to ronnie mcnutt and dreamybull way more then usual because recycling 2022 2023 memes is way better then anything in 2025
