God, the animation is atrocious. Especially whenever the camera pans and the perspective just ceases to make sense.

Am I missing some controversy that happened here?

Honestly, I find this incredibly fascinating in just how terrible it is. It fails in so many fundamental ways that are pretty much exclusive to this, not to mention the constant aura that this is John clinging desperately to any hope he had of remaining relevant. It really is such a trainwreck that I can't look away from.
