This might sound crazy but I think having a cat is easier then fish because I had some fish before and sure it's low maintenance but cleaning the tanks and replacing the dirty water from them shitting everywhere. I hate that so much. Cat's litter and feeding combined is way easier and less bad then cleaning a fish tank out. Like carrying this super heavy box with stinky water and dumping it in the backyard and then washing and refilling and putting fish back in from a secondary tank. I hate doing that so much and I'm glad my family doesn't have them anymore
Tbh if the fish were fighting and killing each other slowly and painfully. Might have been a better end for them to just get eaten by a chicken and die within 2seconds painlessly. But getting new tanks that are seperated would of been even better solution
