I usually don't think of myself as a man either, & instead just a person or part of an abstract painting. Hence my gender-neutral screen name. My point was that because we are males, we are forced into a situation that's different from single females. I believe that GOD is the most masculine but also the most kind.

@KCSunbeam Not saying being a man is bad. Just as a woman is not bad. But when tradition promote force masculine thinking, I have a problem with that. marriage is why it's torn apart. Waaaaaay to Many controlling freaks on this earth

@ifightwithgiants7777 I agree that there's a twisted type of "masculinity" we must avoid: unnecessary violence, risk taking, etc. But I'm convinced that there's a historical masculinity that's God-given: the patriarchy.

I used to be a wrestling fan long ago. Among my favorite wrestlers were King Kong Bundy, Brutus "the Barber" Beefcake, Bruiser Brody, Abdullah the Butcher, the Von Erichs & the Freebirds. I play video games every single day (old school ones). Among my favorite horror movies are zombie movies & Texas Chainsaw Massacre series. It's easy for people to condemn all that because they don't have the time for any of it. But when a man is single no children like you & I, that's a whole different life. If others don't like it, they should provide us some better things to do instead of judging & doing nothing.

@ifightwithgiants7777 Like you said, the Internet has separated people. But I must live on the Internet. Otherwise I would have no life at all.

@ifightwithgiants7777 Yup. I clearly remember 76 with the Bicentennial. I had Bicentennial pencils, collected Bicentennial quarters, etc. Boys drooled over Farrah Fawcett, including me. I had pairs of 70s bellbottom pants. No computers, video games or cellphones anywhere. To dial a # on our housephone you had to stick your finger into different holes on a plastic ring & twist it around, wait for it to unwind, then twist again. The Jimmy Carter era, his banning the Olympics over the Iran hostage crisis, his goofy brother Billy. I remember Richard Nixon as President, live on TV. Muhammad Ali was the champ boxer, my father met him. My grandfather had a blue 1965 Chrysler, my favorite car. I could go on & on.
