@rebelyeller23 windows 7 was the last somewhat good windows. Windows 8 was bad even windows 10 it has ads on your taskbar and ui looks corporate to me like the art style.

I use Linux on my gaming pc and Windows on other devices. I still think Linux is behind in terms of usability and stability. There's too many choices and Linux is still unstable, Mint is good starting distro, but Mint has it's limitations. Arch is nearly perfect, except when it breaks. Endeavour OS is probably another distro to mention. EndeavourOS is based on Arch except its a bit more stable. Linux just feels like a rabbit hole as there isn't a definitive distro.

@rebelyeller23 Understandable, I jumped ship in 2023 when it was never getting a chromium update again [Steam will be broken soon + other chromium applications, other browsers will soon follow suit]

It's better to prepare sooner rather than later though. When you feel its time to switch, dualboot mint with Win7 to get your bearings with linux with Win7 to fall back onto until you're confident enough to ditch Win7

@DixonDumbass I wish I could use Windows 7 forever, I still use it on a second computer, but with security holes and software not being compatible it becomes unusable. Windows 7 is the most stable operating system I have ever used. Not to mention it's also the nicest looking one.

@borisman626 debian but I recommend starting with Linux mint if your a beginner to Linux. It's ui is very similar to windows to me atleast and it works well without much issues and also it's based off debian and Ubuntu so it means it's super easy to find commands for it on Linux to do stuff in the terminal and many programs on Linux are made for debian and distros based off debian as well. If its some really obscure distro based off another obscure distro it would be hard to find commands and programs and general help online then something based off debian or arch with tons of support and tutorials on how to do stuff in them

@bf3k funny but I am trying to lose weight I actually have a channel in my discord server where everyday I put a photo of me and my calorie intake and my weight and my workout level each day to track it and it's public since if I skip a day other people would know and bully me for not putting my daily fitness journal
