I honestly don't know why people are so enamoured with parler personally, sure it allowed free speech but most of the people who used it were radical people who got banned from other platforms like Twitter for spreading misinformation/disinformation.

Yep. If microsoft kept windows phone around for a little longer, and then took the position of "we'll allow free speech platforms like parler," the windows phone might have been able to survive.
I highly doubt Bill Gates would have sold out his leftist values to corner that market, but if he did it's an untapped market.
