Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2

I can't wait to have Bam back. Breaks my heart that they left his ass in the dust just because he got high as hell, threatened his family, and pushed his friends away.

@shingo Check out V-Rally 3, Driver 3, NFS Carbon & 007 Nightfire; Amazing GBA games that are also 3D.

The other Tony Hawk games were isometric, but the characters were 3D models, same with Jet Grind Radio's port (same developer); There's quite a few games with 3D rendering too like Duke Nukem, Doom, Wolfenstein, Eks vs Sever, Ice Nine etc. etc.

GBA has a great library.

I couldn't get into 1+2, but I'm looking forward to 3+4 despite my disdain for IronGalaxy; I'm a competitive player for both American Wasteland and THPS2X, and sometimes I dabble in THPS3. The balance in 1+2 just does not suffice, it's incredibly loose and feels like THPS HD, even with max stats.

They also butchered grind & manual specials, consuming way too much balance FAST (this + point worth renders them useless); the entire meta for the game is to do a wallride over a deep quarterpipe, hold a grab special into spine/revert over & over... the skill floor is stupid neutered, unless you're going for challenges/achievements. I don't have fun going for tens of millions of points in 1+2 (boring!), nor do I care about my high scores.

It's not a bad casual game, but it sucks if you're a veteran player heavily into the mechanics; I recommend TH2X waaay more still; definitive version.

Many of the levels have questionable design too, some looking worse than THPS HD...

6/10 IMO.

I also love the Tony Hawk games! I played them a lot when I was a teen in the 2000s. Sometimes after school I'd go home and play American Wasteland.

Now 20 years later, I'm going back to the 2000s and reliving this decade. So now I'm going back to playing THP3, and American Wasteland on my ps2. I'm just waiting for the first Underground to come in the mail and I'll be all set!

Man I really gotta get into this series. I've never skated in my life but it should be fun I think.

I played a bunch of Tony Hawk games on my GBA as a kid. Tony Hawk's Underground Jam is one of the only GBA games that had real 3D graphics, interestingly enough. All the others were isometric.

@shingo The character models are real-time 3D, the gameplay is isometric with 2D backgrounds.

@TowerDude well yeah, that's the same as THPS, but I'm interested in games that are fully 3D like SSX3

idk never played any tony hawk game maybe im just too young for this. i have no idea how im technically gen z since gen z ppl talk about like 2000s and early 2010s nostalgia while i grew up in mid 2010s and after. im technically not gen alpha either since most sources say gen alpha starts in 2012 and im 2009
