although funnily enough, when i left the platform last year, the latest community post was about some youtube short reupload. and i think sks2002 himself was like "nooo you dont have to post only old youtube videos here", bitch really?? the entire site was just a copy paste from 2009 YT but somehow worse
vidlii is 100% better, cuz it has its own community and identity

BITVIEW ONCE AGAIN SHOWING THE WORLD THAT IT IS INDEED THE RAPED
Bitview actually posted an update to their bluesky again ( https://bsky.app/profile/bitview.net/post/3mj3h5jof5s2h ) saying that the emails are from a third party and aren't from the bitview team at all, and the site is still actually being worked on, so ashley2012 is just some random kid it seems.
The emails came from an database leak from 2024, accounts from after the leak didn't get this email.
I know most vidlii users really could not give less of a fuck about bitview but i think this is important to point out since the actual situation is actually quite different.
I will say though, the bitview team could have delivered this information better and it's disappointing that when all this is happening that they aren't making the actual situation obvious enough to the userbase

@bmp Wish I could pin comments on here, thank you so much for the insight! Yeah if it were my site and something like this were to pop up I'd make sure it was known everywhere what the real situation is. Given what I've heard since posting this about BitView's management history though I can't say I'm the least bit surprised it's all worked out this way.
Hope the new version of BitView is a success for them, but blegh! This whole situation is a mess for them
