I am here because I hate what YouTube has become, and miss what it once was.

There used to be a sense of community on YouTube, when everyone could customize their channels, and when a vast majority of people uploaded videos for fun or for a bit of e-fame, but never for money. (I am referencing YouTube as it was during the second half of the 2000s, and perhaps a bit into the early 2010s.)

Mass monetization morphed typical uploads from genuinely interesting stuff to artificially-viral clickbait garbage, and channel design has been hopelessly bland since 2013, when they introduced One Channel. Old YouTube is gone, but nowadays too many damn kids use YouTube; they don't know anything better because they can't remember Old YouTube, so there won't be a mass exodus from that site anytime soon.

It's just much more enjoyable to use VidLii than to use YouTube.

I think it might happen if they keep pushing people away. I mean it's still very unlikely but it could happen. I do think Vidlii is better cause I don't have to worry on here but it doesn't mean YouTube is gonna fall immediately. heck they could remove all content creators and exist with darn TV show nonsense.

youtube is only going down a downward spiral that will sooner or later hurt it in the long run, but not cause it to completely die.

OK, I'm not sure how this was in 2017-09, but for me in 2017-12, it doesn't look like VidLii got the really toxic people just as Vidme and BitChute did, maybe due to the video length limit (as toxic stuff is long and rambling).

It's not that YouTube per se is against those "conservative" views (maybe to some extend, but they try to not be evil, right?), but advertisers don't want to be associated with them and certainly don't want to fund them via monetization, and this, as it turns out, doesn't only affect "conservative" productions, but a whole lot more, be it news reporting, gaming, "progressive" views probably too, and whatever else.

As the rebels tend to not pay for their services, let's imagine all of them would come here, would the site be able to stay up and running?

haha. i'm myself. i couldn't stand the damned conservative system. people care more for the money. nothing close to care for the fans. google would rather messed up youtube. back on youtube, people was easier to make money by posting funny videos or something to attract the fans. nowdays those considered dead channels like JoeyBlondeWolf for example.

Very good statements were said in this video. I don't hate YouTube but I love being in a smaller community where my videos can be seen instead of just sitting there being uninspired to make videos. The biggest problem I have on youtube is copyright but it isn't really an issue for me. I use YouTube to watch videos on a daily basis and shit and it's pretty sweet. Also, pipe, bong, or blunt?

i honestly hate youtube, the design, what they're doing with updates, etc. I don't come here for a "safe space", i come here because it's better than where i've come from.

I for one got really tired of youtube's Bullshit, i basically stopped posting videos on that pathetic website since new years eve 2016 due to their deceitfulness and their sheer greed, I left youtube in the dust because they have lied about the unsubscribe glitch issue when they made the video called, "let's talk about subscriptions" on December 14th 2016 from the moment I watch the video I was pissed off because the subscribing glitch began in spring 2012 which did effect my channel as I lost over 10,000 subscribers and as the years gone by they were that lazy as they knew about the unsubscribe glitch situation when all that time, they were pampering the big channels, celebreties and the mainstream media, and for all the years that I was being neglected by youtube, I was never able to trust them even further. So I will say fuck off to Google and YouTube and just forget about them, I would like to see them suffer to their oblivion for treating their users like shit. Fuck Youtube.

You're not completely wrong with your statement. YouTube is never going to collapse any time soon. The only reason we hate YouTube was that the only reason it was made was because you only uploaded for fun, not to make any stupid business running out your mom's basement, not to create money from ads, you just uploaded because you felt like it and you built a fanbase. That's what I do not get with YouTube. It seems like all they care about is money. If any point YouTube is on the chopping block from Google, there's a chance of someone who ACTUALLY knows how to run a video sharing site might buy it, but in reality, I don't expect that happening at all at this point. YouTube is big in it's own right.

in a general sense, propbably yes. but in a spiritual sense, wars can take out anything. blackout system, even google and youtube aren't prone to be invincible like that.

To the contrary: if YouTube would go offline, people would start wars again because they wouldn't be distracted by cat videos any more ;-)

YouTube biggest concern is that the FTC might label google a Monopoly, and begin to break up the company. If that happens YouTube would probably be first on the chopping block, and I don't know if YouTube could survive on its own with out Google. It was unlikely that the FTC would act under the Obama administration, but google is no friend of Trump, so it will be interesting to what happens.

That's not what they do any more nowadays. If you look at all the vertical integration, Google (or the other big Internet-based companies) would have been split a long time ago. Just think about it: how can the product manufacturer also control distribution? We forgot to even think about it any more. There is Scott Galloway for example, telling everybody that we live in strange times when it comes to antitrust.

I know what you mean. YouTube can be annoying, but they're not gonna die out any day soon, or probably ever. Plus, there's a lot of good stuff about youtube, like better upload quality.

google may many seem to be dumb on the part. though youtube seemed lame, google getting all the money, well....most of the money then youtube. remember, partnership with youtube will make then successful. if youtube where to go out of business, then it can affect google plus as well. i still love google plus. i don't come on yt as much

Great observation, at this day and age it's pretty much clear that YouTube will never fall or collapse as you said. And I agreed when you said that people are taking it far saying YouTube will die soon. Google can continue to fuck up YouTube as it is but they are making to much money to even plumb into obscurity. Good video. Hope to see more Sweg.
