@ShyStudios Well, I really only attribute meaning to things based on real psychological and spiritual concepts. To me, Lain is just a cute girl who's literally me, as in she's extremely socially retarded but also schizophrenic. It's just a pity party for the soul, if only I was born as a girl with magical powers who is also socially inept and intellectually dim!!! The whole Machine God Internet Hivemind thing was just made up, Ghost Hound (another work of theirs) is much more beautiful and relatable in it's truly spiritual realism, and Ergo Proxy is infinitely more aesthetic with a wonderful opening song.
Texhnolyze is only good for people who can last through it, and moreso as a How To fantasy than a good story. The story is so gritty and realistic that it can even leave you angry, but is the best anime for you to enter into with your spirit.
