Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation plays very similar to the previous games in the series, but some new things have been added to the game. The biggest addition is that now rather large parts of the game consist of several interconnected levels sometimes explored in any order, with puzzles in one level often requiring that some actions are done in other levels. Lara has also learned a few new moves: she can climb into the niches with low ceilings, she can now move around the corners while hanging and she can also pull levers and open trap-doors while jumping.

The game world is made up of "blocks". When you're standing still and not walking, tap [up] or [down] once and Lara will move the distance of one block forward or backward. If you hold [jump] while running, Lara will move the distance of one block first, then jump after.
So to do a running jump, walk to the edge and release the [walk] button to stop walking, then tap [down] once to go one block backwards, then hold [up] followed by [jump] and Lara will run to the edge and automatically jump off when she reaches it.
If you wanna do a short jump, walk to the edge and stop, then press [up] and [jump] at the same time to immediately leap forward without running.
