My apple tree
In 2017 I planted an apple seed, from a granny smith apple that came from the supermarket. Years later, it's grown into a tall tree with lots of fruit on it.
Apples don't grow true to seed, so the resulting fruit you get from planting a new tree this way will have different characteristics. You might get fruit that's very small, or very big, or very sour etc.
Remarkably, the apples from this tree are very similar to granny smith in appearance and size, though it has a subtly different flavour.
