I could not find this fucking classic ANYWHERE on VidLii so I reuploaded it myself.

These novelty singing fish by Gemmy Industries were very popular back in the early 2000s. By the time this video was filmed, the batteries probably hadn't been changed in 8 years and were therefore running low. There was "Big Mouth Billy Bass" and "Travis the Trout", the model in this video is the latter.

My explanation to why the backing vocals sound normal is because all the battery power is used when the fish takes the lead. Hence when the battery is low, the fish does not turn all the way. The audio becomes so distorted to the point where it sounds like a flamethrower.

@MoogBassist1971 I tried it again today and i can hear it now. not sure what happened yesterday. Wow i've never heard one of these with dead batteries. Crazy! I'll have to try this on mine next time my radio batteries go dead.

@pentium4person Maybe I'll get one for Christmas and put my Wii remote's dead batteries inside it. It honestly sounds better and funnier with low batteries.
