Spiderfan On: The YouTube Mentality
This video isn't as refined as my other videos and was mainly just me spitballing about the subject. That is why the "uh's" are so numerous and I initially tried editing this video but it killed the flow of it, so this video is basically unscripted rambling about Bourg's video. Everything I did say was from the heart if you will, so it is my genuine thoughts on the subject. I know I enjoyed making it so I hope ya enjoy watching it. :)

@spiderfan Never said it was the end all be all, I said it's the best. As in, CURRENTLY the best. Hence my use of the word "still".
Your insistence on it not being the best is ignorant. You don't even try to understand the changes they make, you just overreact and go "omg they changed x, YouTube is dead now!" That's hyperbole but it's still pretty much entirely what you're doing.

@mattwo I'm not asking people to settle for inferior products because IMO YouTube is an inferior product to Vidme, Vidlii, and Wenoo. Acting like YT is the be all and end all is ignorant.

@pivot2parodies I tried my best to make sure that didn't happen. It still did. I recommend watching the Wenoo version as you can hear that one better.

@spiderfan Storage limits, filesize limits, analytics, countering copyright claims, none of YouTube's "competition" compares in these areas. These are things that content creators NEED to consider when it comes to using other websites.
I mean, there IS Internet Archive but that lacks the social media aspect so no one wants to use it for anything more than a backup, aside from The Cartoon Physicist who uses YouTube but links to some of her videos via Internet Archive when she has copyright issues and even then it's still more or less a fallback plan.

@spiderfan You're asking people to settle for inferior products. How do you even fail to comprehend how bass-ackwards that is?
It's not just an issue of how much YouTube's staff cares about users, it's about how much better functionally FOR users it is as well.

@spiderfan Vidme isn't better than Zippcast outside of how it works better than Zippcast but that's about it.

@mattwo I'm not saying Vidme is perfect, but saying YT is the best video site on the internet is absurd. YT does not care about their users at all and you know this. Your mindset is the part of the problem that Bourg and I have talked about and I wish you were the way you use to be. I understand that ZC shutdown and Louis ripped us ALL off, but don't dismiss alternative sites and side with YT.

I don't recall YouTube limiting users who aren't verified and now Vidme is limiting users who are.

I'd also like to point out that on YouTube you can actually counter copyright claims but from what I heard, Vidme makes you re-upload videos just for them to get claimed again. Don't believe me? Just ask Ez Rider of Toku Time. Linkara also had issues with the copyright system.
