I picked up ABK a few days ago, and... Oh my! This is the best fighting game I've played so far, this game is simplicity done right, the execution barrier on this game is simple to do, but it dosent sacrifice depth like modern games usually do. ABK is a 3 Button game, and the roster is your usual archetypes (shoto, grappler, rushdown) with distinctive moveset that you only find on airdashers like Guilty Gear.

If you want to get into Fighting Games, Akatsuki Blitzkampf is the best start, in my opinion.
