In an interesting interview with Adolfo Arjona (which you can listen to at the link in this news item), Professor Jorge Sobral Fernández clarifies that the tyrant "is an individual characterized by a biographical trajectory defined by an enormous desire to seek power, by a a very specific way of exercising power while they have it and because of tremendous anguish at the possibility of losing it. That leads him to Machiavellian practices."
