The Golden Age of the Internet Is Over
A great video by Glink that explains why YouTube (and the internet in general) has been going down hill. This is why sites like VidLii are so great.
I cut the song at the end so that it would be under VidLii's 25 minute limit.

No.
It is over and it's not getting better either. It's been over since about 2010, that's when things started to slip. But in the last 2-3 years there has been a sharp uptick in efforts by governments around the world to get control of the internet by forcing through copyright enforcement, "online harms", "hate speech", "age verifcations", anti encryption bills, etc. It seems that they are determined to get their way at any cost.
Perfectly legal sites are getting torpedoed left and right because of rager assholes and unbearable legal liabilities created by governments. This never used to be a problem, but it is now and it's only going to get worse
So yeah. Aside from the alternate internets, it's over. It's sad. Anyone who tries to claim otherwise is either an idiot, missed out, or feels guilty for their role in it.
