Invader Zim - 1999 Pilot
This is the invader zim pilot from 1997. why i say 1997? because this is one of the first things the invader zim team did animation wise.
and the show was being developed at this time. being made by Squee! creator Jhonen Vasquez. being known at that time for his very violent comics Johnny The Homicidal Maniac (JTHM) and Squee! a spinoff of JTHM. Squee! was the reason why he was given a show on nickelodeon.
it was being developed in 1997. being animated (with cels instead of digital ink and paint) and voiced in 1998. with some early voices such as Billy West being Zim in this pilot.
and being completed with the voices, visuals and music in 1999. two years before the show started. This was an animation test. so it was probably made for showing on TV. or it wasnt, and was just made for something else.
the current Zim voice actor, Richard Steven Horvitz, actually dubbed over some of Billys lines from the pilot as some like Audition. you can find that version somewhere

woah, this really changed. the quality just screams "low budget pilot" but it turned into something fucking legendary

@Zimtastic There was a cel frame from the pilot of Zim and GIR walking in the opposite direction (approx in 5:49) on a site similar to Ebay one time. HOWEVER, it MAY have been sold already.

Oh yeah i also forgot to put it in the description. The music was by a different guy. instead of Kevin Manthei, who is also known for composing the music for Generator Rex, The Sims 2, and Robot Chicken. it was Michael Tavera, who is known for composing the music for The Land Before Time, An American Tail, and Stitch! The Movie.
