Johann Sebastian Bach - Wahrlich, dieser ist Gottes Sohn gewesen - Chorus 63b
Among these works are the Ascension Cantata and the Christmas Oratorio, the latter consisting of six cantatas. The St. John Passion and the St. Matthew Passion also were written in Leipzig, as was the epic Mass in B Minor. The piece was written for double chorus, soloists, and orchestra and is narrated in tenor solo recitative and choruses. This excerpt from the passage "Wahrlich, dieser ist Gottes Sohn gewesen" (Truly This Was the Son of God) is from one of the most beautiful choral segments in the oratorio.
