He's talking about personal slights, insults, or offenses that we might encounter in our lives. In contemporary terms, a 'slap in the face' is often a metaphor for an unexpected insult or offense. Rather than returning insult for insult, He teaches us to 'turn the other cheek,' promoting a spirit of forgiveness, understanding, and a willingness to endure personal offenses without retaliation.
