Is this trying to make the Flintstones look cool again?

Fred is the dad. They get someone to put on a Fred suit with fake sunglasses to work a turntable and that's supposed to make him more cool to the kids.

But they did it by disassociating it with the actual show in almost every single way.

In fact what are they trying to say: (1)that the cartoon is cool or (2) that Fred is cool. Point one doesn't make much sense because the song only relates to the show through the name and point two doesn't make much sense because they're trying to associate eye bleeding colors and neon clothes with a family man every man adult cartoon character that at one point appeared on cigarette commercials. Its just weird.
