The moderation of the site is fairly OK, really gross or illegal stuff doesn't stay very long. Sure, there is racism and similar disgusting stuff, not exactly against the law or site rules and legal in some jurisdictions, but that's still from a minority who hopes to use this site as an "freedom of speech", "no censorship" alternative because they get kicked out elsewhere and don't want to pay for their own hosting. I guess those are mostly kids who think it's funny and never experienced being the target of offense. The majority of uploads is just some junk or shitposting, not too bad in my opinion, but this way, VidLii can never develop in an attractive site for small, creative, hobby video creators, especially as one doesn't necessarily want to be seen as associated with the more questionable things if one would invite friends and family to watch videos on the site. Want to say: could be worse, could be better.

Look what happened with Alithezombie13 and KingFatty. Aweful moderators that abused their power. So we need moderators that can keep a level head and actually care about the site while staying balanced. Strike people too much for hate speech or bullying and harassment just because they gave their opinion on someone and people will start comparing the site to YouTube in regards to censorship. On the other hand be too careless and people will complain that the website is too toxic.

@RisingPhoenix Very true, I've experienced this problem, & balance first hand with discord severs ( being a mod or not), & on other YT channels that I help out in various ways.

@RisingPhoenix What do they know, "censorship" claims. Are they paying for the storage and bandwidth? If not, why should a site be obliged to promote their questionable views? It can be an exercise in media competency, it can invite discussions, but if they run around hating people, how can they expect to be welcomed in return? I mean, sure, restricting "hate speech" or bullying or harassment to create "safe spaces" or something, nobody really cares about that nonsense, but that shouldn't be interpreted as an invitation to post such content and act like a complete jerk, so there can be a strong policy against such uploads, but not by just striking/deleting/banning them, instead, by explaining and listening, so that there can be a dialogue about why it might not be the smartest thing to post absolutely everything or the most extreme.

@TheGamingGuru calm down from the time being. Although, Vidlii allows freedom of speech to allow racist content, Youtube is doing the same. I don't think this centers around Vidlii. However the incidents surrounding the recent happenings with edray is beyond Vidlii and beyond edray as well.
