also alot of bands did each take like as a jam session with some overdubbing for the master the first album blue album it was recorded to 24 track tape so that makes less time for bouncing and mix downs since alot of these songs where recorded in the pre digital era where DAT was only used for mastering only.

demo recordings can have a Drum sound that's not heard in the final master cuz they can do what is called dampening to cut out the ringing of the snare drum like some tape or a dampen ring to cut off some extra ringing that they don't want in the final drum mix and demo recordings are meant to give you an idea where the song is going sound wise even tho as you hear in this demo Weezer already had the lyrics down well they just needed to shape the drum sound for the other takes.
