I loved watching animes there, and also we must not forget about Megaporn, lol. Yeah, all that SOPA/PIPA Act shit with all the consequent "megaupload effect" and the massive bans of extinct sites like Putlocker or Rapidshare (since I started a spanish warez blog, I lost all my files back then). The only survivors have been 4shared and Mediafire. God, I don't want a shit like this to happen again, although last month we've already seen the KissAnime/KissManga shutdown -_-

Regarding the ascii art thing, I've realized that it would be incompatible with the responsive mobile mode, I mean, nothing wide could be placed there in a static way u_u

Yup, I've noticed that. Always the same problem, if this site becomes more popular, the staff will surely become more restrictive with copyright and the auto detection plagiarism shit, the damn karma. On the deleted sites, another one that everyone has forgotten is Megavideo. Until february 2012 really was a big YT competitor, more than Vimeo and Dailymotion are nowadays.

I didn't get to know VidMe. I recently discover the "YouTube Alternatives Wikia", and there really are too many sites that disappeared. On your pastebin, if you added some ascii art to it like the nfos from the warez scene, I think it would look cooler OwO I could make to you a couple of samples to choose if you are interested <3

Currently the Vlare url redirects to the main page of VidLii... Could it be the staff here acquired the Vlare domain to catch more visits? At least seeing these measurements (like the fact they placed that annoying notice against adbloq, that although I had my uBlock already disabled, it makes impossible to save anything in Archive >_<) we can deduce that the staff is still present and allows us to have a little more hope for the future of this place :3
