A major aviation accident that occurred on Saturday July 27, 2002 during an air show in honor of the 60th anniversary of the 14th Aviation Corps at the Sknilovsky airfield, located on the outskirts of Lviv. While performing aerobatics at an extremely low altitude, the Su-27UB fighter of the Ukrainian Air Force fell directly into the crowd of spectators. 77 people died (including 28 children), 543 people were injured with varying degrees of severity. The catastrophe in Lviv became the largest air show in world history in terms of the number of dead and wounded.
