A faster way to download videos, on Firefox and PaleMoon (not sure about other browsers), is to Shift+Right-click on the video to force the html5 video player context menu and then "Save Video as...". I also used this to change the playback speed, until I found out about the period and comma shortcuts.

i'm late as hell, but you can actually just shift+right click the video player and it will bypass vidlii's player context menu and give you the option to download the video normally. i do this on firefox

edit: thank you vidlii for not showing me the top comment which says this already
