The phone turned off in the end, is because most electronics have a chip in them that when the temperature gets too high, it forcefully turns off.

I know (I was actually wondering why it didn't turn off earlier because of that), but the phone became a brick after that so I don't think that was why it turned off. xD

I would've put it in the freezer(in a sandwich bag covered in ice, but I don't know your situation so i'm glad everything turned out ok!
