A fight that didn't happen.

However, in real life there were training dogfights (modestly nicknamed 'joint maneuvering' by partners) between pilots of the Lipetsk Center for Combat Use and retraining of Air Force flight personnel and pilots of the 1st Fighter Wing of the US Air Force during a visit by Russian pilots to Langley Air Base in 1992.

In the zone located in the ocean at a distance of 200 km from the east coast of the United States, three fighters took off: Su-27UB (in the front cockpit - Russian pilot. In the rear — an American pilot), an F-15D with an American pilot in the front cockpit and a Russian air attache acting as an interpreter - in the rear, as well as an F-15C escort aircraft. The range of permitted piloting heights was 2500-8500 m (above and below were civil air routes).

F-15D "Eagle" has never been able to go into the tail of a Russian aircraft or break away from pursuit.
