That's one of the coolest features from heyspace for sure, but there isn't a lot of users there, just some teenagers, the concept is very cool

VR is a cool novelty, but I never liked it much. I gave away my Oculus last year after not using it for 3 years

I've heard about Myspace, and I even accessed the site a few days ago anonymously. I didn't find anything that cool there, besides some cool site skins that incentivize people to learn CSS.

I also went through NeoCities and Nekoweb, which are part of the old internet revival... there are some cool sites there.

Wiby.org is a search engine where you can find some of these sites, but some of them are too old, like from the '90s. That's all the eccentric stuff I've found so far. ^^

There's a 2001 documentary about the internet in Japan. Even though the video is a bit old, you can still get something interesting out of it. Some Japanese teenagers give their opinions, which still hold up today. Maybe someone will like it, I'll leave it here! Also, sorry for long text!

@madarao Almost all kids in school now are retarding themselves by using GayI for all their work too. I've seen it firsthand

now, internet addiction is one thing (I highlight computer illiteracy because most of those types can't even use a search engine anymore, so their dependency is debatable at best if they can't *find* the information). overall IQ or learning ability is another story, we have definitely created an environment where younger people aren't encouraged to ask questions about things that interest them and that will contribute to a lot of the problem.

@shingo that is true. from what i've noticed though, those kinds of folks really know so little about computers or the internet and the constant brainrot onslaught is just the most convenient form of entertainment for them, which is replaceable if you take it away or if the network effect brings them to something better. that's what I meant by indifferent, the dependence on it is circumstantial.

@madarao It's partly that. A lot of it has to do with how people were raised, and if you were raised with an iPad while you were young, you're gonna be mentally fried way more than someone who wasn't. The younger the generation, the more iPad babysitting that's happening on average.
