QUAKE 2 RTX GAMEPLAY *IS RTX WORTH THE PRICE???*

I was building my boy a pc recently, we got him the top of the line rtx 2070 super founders meme gpu it is a really nice gpu (minus the fact you CANT disable the bright green nvidya logo without taking apart the card o well)

rtx is a neet idea but tbh id rather have faked ultra high performance effects like parallax corrected cube maps and lightmaps etc etc i guess rtx can be used for some really cool stuff but tbh its not worth it yet, i dont give a shit about fuzzy af dynamic shadows

If i had an rtx card i would however try to write my own custom rtx accelerated vrad.exe for source engine stuff and maybe see if better prop lighting is possible with this but it would still be baked lightmaps in the end (the best way to do lighting in like almost every situation)

just 2 be clear if i had 500$ to drop i would still buy the 2070 super it is a SUPER CLEAN CARD i dont rly like the aftermarket ones but the stock cards are really nice and i want one to replace my totally capable rx480
