With YouTube still at the center of controversy, it's raising questions about the future of the site. The controversies that lead to users coming here to VidLii.

If youtube charges users for uploading videos on the platform, then youtube has added fuel to the fire which will lead their website into oblivion. Susan Wojcicki the current CEO of youtube needs to be fired, because a worthless dinosaur like her is ruining youtube left, right and center, what will happen next with youtube in 2018, only time will tell, but as it stands youtube has continued to be untrustworthy and manipulative to their customers, demonitising their videos, also I've noticed that when you upload a video to YouTube the monitising ad box will not show until the video reaches a thousand views, which is disgusting.

I think Youtube and other global file hosting sites should just be shut down. I think we’ve all come to realise that globalization of file hosting services leads to too many users at a time, allowing spam and ther unacceptable content to slip through. With so many (millions=billions) users at one time, and a site focused on popularity and celebs, media becomes centralized. Centralization then leads to conflict and inequality for 99% of users on it.
I believe file hosting services should be region restricted and focused on particular interests (e.g., animals, indie media, games) to avoid extreme conflict like what has happened to youtube.
Do you believe that media has become centralized and selfish too?

@edray1416 @MrATAndreiThomas youtube is the problem. but google is far more powerful than youtube considering they're longer existing. they have celebrities. plus they're beyond the top. google's economy is so powerful in technology, it surpasses even youtube. if i'm not mistake was google gone downhill...remember when Obama was election? then rise of Harold Camping? SOPA, PIPA and CISPA?do you think things involve in google then people think they really are?

Google could be forced into a bankruptcy if multiple lawsuits favor the plaintiffs in question. If Google goes bankrupt, they'll have to see YouTube for a fraction of what they bought it for. Even selling YouTube may not be enough to fix Google out of bankruptcy. YouTube has had numerous lawsuits, but Google lawsuits are a lot more serious.

I have nothing good to say about YouTube as they terminated my channel for terms of use violations yet I had no strikes. I didn't know till a few days ago that you can be banned just for adding videos to playlists that are within the community guidelines but are deemed inappropriate, so I get punished for someone's videos that are fine but shouldn't be playlisted, sweet :( The terms of use are contradictory, yet enforced and often if you appeal you just get rejected so I will NOT appeal and stay away from YouTube.
I sincerely hope that YouTube fails and then hopefully returns to it's original owners.

I'm sorry that you lost your account sir. And yes, YouTube is full of contradictions. You can't do anything without getting in trouble. No violations, subject to termination. Violations, subject to criticism. Logan Paul is a prime example of violating YouTube's Community Guidelines, yet stays on. Paul himself took down his suicide video. I hope VidLii does you well. Another alternative (if you consider it) is BitView.

I actually kind of hope YouTube begins charging people to upload there, it'll be the final straw that breaks the camel's back. Let them shoot themselves in the foot and allow a better video platform like VidLii a fair chance to operate and offer a better alternative to all this horseshit YouTube has become.

PewdiePie was another example, he got some guys on fivver to make and hold a banner with a religious statement yet he remains. I remember life in a tent (lait) becoming life in a camp yet the terms say if you're banned then it stays that way. Too much censorship and terms that should not stand up in court yet YouTube go by and stick to those terms. I'm looking at bitview, some decent original music on Vimeo, worth a look.

The new YouTube one channel is a TERRIBLE rip-off of the old one. I can't BELIEVE that I can see less videos on the screen at once compared to the old one.
Seriously, The idea of Google+ would be good. It's the execution by the removal of responses of old comments that was bad, and YouTube should've just added a way to link pages to your channel (which would be EASIER in the long run), rather than force it onto your channel.
YouTube's changes have been HORRIBLE since 2015. They should really just fix the site, and reset development like Microsoft did with Longhorn.

Actually, they were rushing. The "Last build of Longhorn" you speak of is the build prior to release. Longhorn is the codename of Vista, and therefore stuck with it until launch.
That said, if the customers weren't pushing for Vista, we would've ended up with all those features but without the bloat, slug and crashes. Instead, we just ended up with undeniable bloat, slug and crashes, on top of a lack of features and the new features were just... badly implemented.
Long story short:The reset happened so they could rush it out. They could've just fixed all the bugs but they didn't because we, the consumer, wanted it.
